Ricco Rodriguez (54-27, 42) was born in San Jose, California, U.S. on August 19, 1977. At the age of 21 years on March 25, 1999, he made his professional MMA debut against Scott Adams, winning the fight via 3-round unanimous decision.
On June 29, 2001, 23-year old Ricco Rodriguez made his UFC debut on his 11th professional MMA fight at UFC 32 against a 22-year old Andrei Arlovski, winning the fight in the 3rd round via TKO.
He became the UFC heavyweight champion on September 27, 2002 at age 25 on his 15th professional MMA fight at UFC 39 after defeating a 39-year old Randy Couture via 5th-round TKO.
Rodriguez' last fight was a 3-round unanimous decision loss to Hatef Moeil at age 41 on February 2, 2019. He retired on a 2-fight losing streak.
He has fought seven times in the UFC, and has a record of 5 wins and 2 losses in the promotion.
