      Ayub Kalule is a 70-year old retired Ugandan professional boxer. He was born in Kampala, Uganda on January 6, 1954. He is a former super-welterweight world champion. His professional boxing career spanned more than 9 years — from 1976 to 1986.

      Kalule made his professional boxing debut against Kurt Hombach at the age of 22 on April 8, 1976, defeating Hombach via 4 round PTS. He went on to win 35 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 18 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 25 on October 24, 1979 after 30 professional fights, against Masashi Kudo for the super-welterweight WBA and The Ring titles. He defeated Kudo via 15 round unanimous decision to become the super-welterweight champion of the world.
