Zab Judah (44-10, 30) was born in Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York City, New York, U.S. on October 27, 1977. At the age of 18 years on September 20, 1996, he made his professional boxing debut against Michael Johnson, winning the fight via 2nd-round TKO.

On his 23rd career fight at 22 years old, Judah became a super-lightweight world champion on February 12, 2000 after defeating Jan Piet Bergman via 4th-round KO to win the vacant IBF title.
