Junior Witter (43-8-2, 23) was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England on March 10, 1974. At the age of 22 years on January 18, 1997, he made his professional boxing debut against Cam Raeside, losing the fight via 6-round points decision.
On his 18th career fight at 26 years old, Junior Witter got a shot at the IBF super-lightweight titles against Zab Judah on June 24, 2000 but lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision.
He became a super-lightweight world champion (WBC) on September 15, 2006 at the age of 32 years old, on his 37th career fight, after defeating DeMarcus Corley via 12-round unanimous decision.
Witter's last fight was a 12-round split decision loss to Ahmed El Mousaoui at age 41 on April 17, 2015. He retired from the sport of boxing following this loss.
