Andreas Kotelnik (32-4-1, 13) was born in Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union on December 29, 1977. At the age of 22 years on December 16, 2000, he made his professional boxing debut against Peter Feher, winning the fight via 1st-round KO.
On his 30th career fight at 29 years old, Andreas Kotelnik got a shot at the WBA super-lightweight titles against Souleymane M'baye on March 10, 2007 but lost the fight via 12-round split decision.
He became a super-lightweight world champion (WBA) on March 22, 2008 at the age of 30 years old, on his 32nd career fight, after defeating Gavin Rees via 12th-round TKO.
