Nigel Benn (42-5-1, 35) was born in Ilford, London, England on January 22, 1964. At the age of 23 years on January 28, 1987, he made his professional boxing debut against Graeme Ahmed, winning the fight via 2nd-round TKO.
On his 27th career fight at 26 years old, Benn became a middleweight world champion on April 29, 1990 after defeating Doug DeWitt via 8th-round TKO to win the WBO title.
He then went on to become world champion at the super-middleweight weight class as well, winning the WBC title against Mauro Galvano via 4th-round TKO on October 3, 1992.
Benn's last fight was a super-middleweight world-title fight against Steve Collins for Collins' WBO title on November 9, 1996. He lost the fight via 6th-round retirement. He retired on a 3-fight losing streak.
