Lyoto Machida (26-12, 13) was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil on May 30, 1978. At the age of 24 years on May 2, 2003, he made his professional MMA debut against Kengo Watanabe, winning the fight via 3-round unanimous decision.
On February 3, 2007, 28-year old Lyoto Machida made his UFC debut on his 9th professional MMA fight at UFC 67 against a 26-year old Sam Hoger, winning the fight via 3-round unanimous decision.
