Leon Spinks (26-17-3, 14) was born in St. Louis, Missouri, U.S. on July 11, 1953. At the age of 23 years on January 15, 1977, he made his professional boxing debut against Bob Smith, winning the fight via 5th-round TKO.
On his 8th career fight at 24 years old, Spinks became a heavyweight world champion on February 15, 1978 after defeating Muhammad Ali via 15-round split decision to win the WBA, WBC and The Ring titles.
Spinks' last fight was a 8-round unanimous decision loss to Fred Houpe at age 42 on December 4, 1995. He was on a 1-fight losing streak by his last fight.
