On February 15, 1978 Leon Spinks fought Muhammad Ali in a heavyweight world-title fight for Ali's WBA, WBC and The Ring titles. Spinks was 24 years old and with a record of 7-0-1 (5), and Ali was 36 years old and with a record of 55-2 (37). Spinks won the fight via 15-round split decision and is crowned the new heavyweight world champion.
On January 12, 1980 Leon Spinks faced off against Alfredo Evangelista at age 26. He was coming in with a record of 8-2-1 (6), and Evangelista was 25 years old and with a record of 32-4-2 (25). Spinks stopped Alfredo Evangelista via KO.
