Gerrie Coetzee (33-6-1, 21) was born in Boksburg, East Rand, Gauteng, South Africa on April 8, 1955. At the age of 19 years on September 14, 1974, he made his professional boxing debut against Chris Roos, winning the fight via 4-round points decision.
