He died on February 25, 1994 at the age of 80 years. Walcott was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 1990. His professional boxing career spanned more than 22 years — from 1930 to 1953.
Walcott made his professional boxing debut against Eddie Wallace at the age of 16 on September 9, 1930, defeating Wallace via 1st round KO. He went on to win 5 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 5 wins via stoppage.
