Ossie Ocasio (23-13-1, 12) was born in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico on August 12, 1955. At the age of 20 years on February 20, 1976, he made his professional boxing debut against Lorenzo Simons, winning the fight via 3rd-round KO.
On his 14th career fight at 23 years old, Ossie Ocasio got a shot at the WBC heavyweight titles against Larry Holmes on March 23, 1979 but lost the fight via 7th-round TKO.
He became a cruiserweight world champion (WBA) on February 13, 1982 at the age of 26 years old, on his 20th career fight, after defeating Robbie Williams via 15-round split decision.
Ocasio's last fight was a 8th-round TKO loss to Alex Garcia at age 37 on November 23, 1992. He retired on a 3-fight losing streak.
