Dick Tiger (60-19-3, 27) was born in Amaigbo, Colony of Nigeria on August 14, 1929. At the age of 22 years on January 1, 1952, he made his professional boxing debut against Simon Eme, winning the fight via 2nd-round KO.
On his 62nd career fight at 33 years old, Tiger became a middleweight world champion on October 23, 1962 after defeating Gene Fullmer via 15-round unanimous decision to win the WBA title.
He then went on to become world champion at the light-heavyweight weight class as well, winning the WBA, WBC and The Ring titles against Gene Fullmer via 7th-round retirement on August 10, 1963.
Tiger's last fight was a 10-round unanimous decision loss to Emile Griffith at age 40 on July 15, 1970. He was on a 1-fight losing streak by his last fight.
