Tiger was 37 years old and with a record of 54-17-3 (25), and Torres was 30 years old and with a record of 39-1-1 (27). Tiger won the fight via 15-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new light-heavyweight world champion.
On October 21, 1965 Dick Tiger fought Joey Giardello in a middleweight world-title fight for Giardello's WBA, WBC and The Ring titles. Tiger was 36 years old and with a record of 52-16-3 (24), and Giardello was 35 years old and with a record of 96-23-8 (31). Tiger won the fight via 15-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new middleweight world champion.
