Frankie Randall (The Surgeon) was an American professional boxer. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama, U.S. on September 25, 1961. He was a super-lightweight world champion. Randall died on December 23, 2020 at the age of 59 years. His professional boxing career spanned more than 22 years — from 1983 to 2005.
Randall made his professional boxing debut against Curtis Gholston at the age of 21 on February 4, 1983, defeating Gholston via 2nd round KO. He went on to win 22 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 18 wins via stoppage.
He had his first world title fight at the age of 32 on January 29, 1994 after 51 professional fights, against Julio César Chávez for the super-lightweight WBC title. He defeated Chávez via 12 round split decision to become the super-lightweight champion of the world.
