Oscar Albarado (Shotgun) was an American professional boxer. He was born in Pecos, Texas, U.S. on September 15, 1948. He was a super-welterweight world champion. Albarado died on February 17, 2021 at the age of 72 years. His professional boxing career spanned more than 16 years — from 1966 to 1982.
Albarado made his professional boxing debut against Genaro Morones at the age of 17 on April 12, 1966, defeating Morones via 4th round TKO. He went on to win 23 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 20 wins via stoppage.
He had his first world title fight at the age of 25 on June 4, 1974 after 55 professional fights, against Koichi Wajima for the super-welterweight WBA, WBC, and The Ring titles. He defeated Wajima via 15th round KO to become the super-welterweight champion of the world.
