Teófimo López (22-1, 13) was born in Brooklyn, New York, U.S. on July 30, 1997. At the age of 19 years on November 5, 2016, he made his professional boxing debut against Ishwar Siqueiros, winning the fight via 2nd-round KO.
On his 15th career fight at 22 years old, López became a lightweight world champion on December 14, 2019 after defeating Richard Commey via 2nd-round TKO to win the IBF title.
He then went on to become world champion at the super-lightweight weight class as well, winning the WBO and The Ring titles against Vasiliy Lomachenko via 12-round unanimous decision on October 17, 2020.
López' last fight was a super-lightweight (WBO, The Ring) world-title defense against Arnold Barboza Jr. on May 2, 2025. He won the fight via 12th-round unanimous decision and successfully defended the titles. He is on a 6-fight winning streak.
