Ruslan Provodnikov (25-5, 18) was born in Beryozovo, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union on January 20, 1984. At the age of 22 years on December 3, 2006, he made his professional boxing debut against Kirill Artemiev, winning the fight via 4-round unanimous decision.
On his 24th career fight at 29 years old, Ruslan Provodnikov got a shot at the WBO welterweight titles against Timothy Bradley on March 16, 2013 but lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision.
He became a super-lightweight world champion (WBO) on October 19, 2013 at the age of 29 years old, on his 25th career fight, after defeating Mike Alvarado via 10th-round retirement.
Provodnikov's last fight was a 12-round unanimous decision loss to John Molina Jr. at age 32 on June 11, 2016. He retired from the sport of boxing following this loss.
