Juan Nazario (25-4, 17) was born in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico on September 27, 1963. At the age of 18 years on April 17, 1982, he made his professional boxing debut against Edgardo Cirino, winning the fight via 4-round points decision.
On his 20th career fight at 23 years old, Juan Nazario got a shot at the WBA lightweight titles against Edwin Rosario on August 11, 1987 but lost the fight via 8th-round TKO.
He became a lightweight world champion (WBA) on April 4, 1990 at the age of 26 years old, on his 24th career fight, after defeating Edwin Rosario via 8th-round retirement.
