Jorge Vaca (65-26-2, 50) was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico on December 14, 1959. At the age of 18 years on February 10, 1978, he made his professional boxing debut against Jose Luis Piceno, winning the fight via 2nd-round KO.
On his 49th career fight at 27 years old, Vaca became a welterweight world champion on October 28, 1987 after defeating Lloyd Honeyghan via 8-round technical decision to win the WBC and The Ring titles.
Vaca's last fight was a 2nd-round KO loss to Jose Luis Cruz at age 42 on November 30, 2002. He retired on a 3-fight losing streak.
