Humberto González (43-3, 30) was born in Ciudad Nezahualcóyotl, State of Mexico on March 25, 1966. At the age of 18 years on September 4, 1984, he made his professional boxing debut against Jorge Ortega, winning the fight via 4-round points decision.
On his 25th career fight at 23 years old, González became a light-flyweight world champion on June 25, 1989 after defeating Yul-woo Lee via 12-round unanimous decision to win the WBC title.
González' last fight was a light-flyweight (WBC, IBF) world-title defense against Saman Sorjaturong on July 15, 1995. He lost the fight via 7th-round TKO. He retired from the sport of boxing following this loss.
