Guillermo Rigondeaux (23-3, 16) was born in Santiago de Cuba, Cuba on September 30, 1980. At the age of 28 years on May 22, 2009, he made his professional boxing debut against Juan Noriega, winning the fight via 3rd-round TKO.
On his 9th career fight at 31 years old, Rigondeaux became a super-bantamweight world champion on January 21, 2012 after defeating Rico Ramos via 6th-round KO to win the WBA title.
He then went on to become world champion at the bantamweight weight class as well, winning the WBA (Regular) title against Nonito Donaire via 12-round unanimous decision on April 13, 2013.
