Andre Ward (32-0, 16) was born in San Francisco, California, U.S. on February 23, 1984. At the age of 20 years on December 18, 2004, he made his professional boxing debut against Chris Molina, winning the fight via 2nd-round TKO.
On his 21st career fight at 25 years old, Ward became a super-middleweight world champion on November 21, 2009 after defeating Mikkel Kessler via 11-round technical decision to win the WBA (Super) title.
He then went on to become world champion at the light-heavyweight weight class as well, winning the WBA, IBF, WBO and The Ring titles against Carl Froch via 12-round unanimous decision on December 17, 2011.
Ward's last fight was a light-heavyweight world-title unification fight against Sergey Kovalev on June 17, 2017. He stopped Kovalev via TKO in the 8th round, winning the The Ring title and successfully defending the WBA (Super), IBF and WBO titles. He retired undefeated with a 32-fight winning streak.
