On April 16, 2022 Radzhab Butaev met Eimantas Stanionis in a welterweight (WBA (Regular)) world-title defense fight. Butaev was 28 years old and with a record of 14-1 (11), and Stanionis was 27 years old and with a record of 13-0 (9). Butaev lost the fight via 12-round split decision and lost the title.
