Katie Taylor (25-1, 6) was born in Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland on July 2, 1986. At the age of 30 years on November 26, 2016, she made her professional boxing debut against Karina Kopińska, winning the fight via 3rd-round TKO.
On her 7th career fight at 31 years old, Taylor became a lightweight world champion on October 28, 2017 after defeating Anahí Ester Sánchez via 10-round unanimous decision to win the vacant WBA title.
She then went on to become world champion at the super-lightweight weight class as well, winning the WBO, WBA, WBC, IBF and The Ring titles against Victoria Bustos via 10-round unanimous decision on April 28, 2018.
