Frampton was 27 years old and with a record of 19-0 (13), and Martínez was 28 years old and with a record of 31-4 (23). Frampton won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new super-bantamweight world champion.
On July 30, 2016 Carl Frampton fought Léo Santa Cruz in a featherweight world-title fight for Cruz' WBA (Super) title. Frampton was 29 years old and with a record of 23-0 (14), and Cruz was 27 years old and with a record of 32-0-1 (18). Frampton won the fight via 12-round majority decision and is crowned the new featherweight world champion.
On April 21, 2018 Carl Frampton fought Nonito Donaire in a featherweight world-title fight for the WBO title. Frampton was 31 years old and with a record of 25-1 (14), and Donaire was 35 years old and with a record of 38-4 (24). Frampton won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new featherweight world champion.
