On December 1, 2017 Nicco Montaño fought Roxanne Modafferi in a flyweight title fight for Modafferi's UFC Women's Championship title. Montaño was 28 years old and with a record of 4-2 (2), and Modafferi was 35 years old and with a record of 21-13 (8). Montaño won the fight via 5-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new TUF flyweight champion.
On August 13, 2016 Nicco Montaño faced off against Shana Dobson in a flyweight bout at age 27. She was coming in with a record of 2-1 (1), and Dobson was 27 years old and with a record of 1-0 (0). Montaño won the fight via 3-round unanimous decision.
