On August 26, 2011 Mizuto Hirota fought Katsunori Kikuno in a lightweight title fight for Kikuno's DEEP Championship title. Hirota was 30 years old and with a record of 13-4-1 (8), and Kikuno was 29 years old and with a record of 15-3-2 (9). Hirota won the fight via 3-round unanimous decision and is crowned the new DEEP lightweight champion.
