      Juan Manuel López (Juanma) is a 40-year old retired Puerto Rican professional boxer. He was born in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico on June 30, 1983. He is a former two-weight-class world champion. His professional boxing career spanned more than 14 years — from 2005 to 2019.

      López made his professional boxing debut against Luis Daniel Colon at the age of 21 on January 29, 2005, defeating Colon via 1st round KO. He went on to win 29 more consecutive fights after the debut, which included 26 wins via stoppage.

      He had his first world title fight at the age of 24 on June 7, 2008 after 21 professional fights, against Daniel Ponce de León for the super-bantamweight WBO title. He defeated León via 1st round TKO to become the super-bantamweight champion of the world.
