Jess Willard (Pottawatomie Giant) was an American professional boxer. He was born in St. Clere, Kansas, USA on December 29, 1881. He died on December 15, 1968 at the age of 86 years. Willard was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame (IBHOF) in 2003. His professional boxing career spanned more than 12 years — from 1911 to 1923.
Willard made his professional boxing debut against Lewis Fink at the age of 29 on February 15, 1911, losing to Fink via 10 round disqualification. He went on to win 6 consecutive fights after this loss, which included 4 wins via stoppage.
