On March 5, 2016 Ruslan Chagaev met Lucas Browne in a heavyweight (WBA (Regular)) world-title defense fight. Chagaev was 37 years old and with a record of 34-3-1 (21), and Browne was 36 years old and with a record of 23-0 (20). Chagaev lost the fight via 10th-round TKO and lost the title.
On August 27, 2011 Ruslan Chagaev fought Alexander Povetkin in a heavyweight world-title fight for the WBA (Regular) title. Chagaev was 32 years old and with a record of 27-2-1 (17), and Povetkin was 31 years old and with a record of 21-0 (15). Chagaev lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision.
On June 20, 2009 Ruslan Chagaev fought Wladimir Klitschko in a heavyweight world-title fight for the IBF, WBO and The Ring titles. Chagaev was 30 years old and with a record of 25-1-1 (17), and Klitschko was 33 years old and with a record of 52-3 (45). Chagaev lost the fight via 9th-round retirement.
