On October 14, 2024 Phumelele Cafu fought Kosei Tanaka in a super-flyweight world-title fight for Tanaka's WBO title. Cafu was 20 years old and with a record of 11-0-3 (8), and Tanaka was 29 years old and with a record of 20-1 (11). Cafu won the fight via 12-round split decision and is crowned the new super-flyweight world champion.
On December 16, 2023 Phumelele Cafu faced off against Enathi Stelle in a super-flyweight bout at age 19. He was coming in with a record of 10-0-3 (8). Cafu stopped Enathi Stelle via KO.
