Oleksandr Usyk (24-0, 15) was born in Simferopol, Crimean Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union on January 17, 1987. At the age of 26 years on November 9, 2013, he made his professional boxing debut against Felipe Romero, winning the fight via 5th-round TKO.
On his 10th career fight at 29 years old, Usyk became a cruiserweight world champion on September 17, 2016 after defeating Krzysztof Głowacki via 12-round unanimous decision to win the WBO title.
He then went on to become world champion at the heavyweight weight class as well, winning the WBC and IBF titles against Mairis Briedis via 12-round majority decision on January 27, 2018.
Usyk's last fight was a heavyweight world-title unification fight against Daniel Dubois on July 19, 2025. He stopped Dubois via KO in the 5th round, winning the IBF title and successfully defending the WBA (Super), WBC, WBO and The Ring titles. He is currently undefeated and is on a 24-fight winning streak.
