On September 13, 2014 Mickey Bey fought Miguel Vázquez in a lightweight world-title fight for Vázquez' IBF title. Bey was 31 years old and with a record of 21-1-1 (10), and Vázquez was 27 years old and with a record of 34-3 (13). Bey won the fight via 12-round split decision and is crowned the new lightweight world champion.
On November 19, 2011 Mickey Bey faced off against Héctor Velázquez at age 28. He was coming in with a record of 18-0-1 (9), and Velázquez was 36 years old and with a record of 51-16-3 (35). Bey won the fight via 8-round unanimous decision.
