Kyung-Yung Lee (20-3, 8) was born in Bonghwa, North Gyeongsang, South Korea on December 4, 1966. At the age of 19 years on December 4, 1985, he made his professional boxing debut against Young Jae Chung, winning the fight via 3rd-round KO.
On his 11th career fight at 20 years old, Lee became a strawweight world champion on June 14, 1987 after defeating Masaharu Kawakami via 2nd-round KO to win the IBF title.
Lee's last fight was a flyweight world-title fight against Pichit Sithbanprachan for Sithbanprachan's IBF title on July 11, 1993. He lost the fight via 1st-round TKO. He retired on a 2-fight losing streak.
