On June 25, 1995 Kostya Tszyu met Roger Mayweather in a super-lightweight (IBF) world-title defense fight. Tszyu was 25 years old and with a record of 15-0 (11), and Mayweather was 34 years old and with a record of 54-11 (32). Tszyu won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and successfully defended his title.
On July 23, 1992 Kostya Tszyu faced off against Juan Laporte at age 22. He was coming in with a record of 4-0 (3), and Laporte was 32 years old and with a record of 37-11-1 (19). Tszyu won the fight via 10-round unanimous decision.
On June 23, 2001 Kostya Tszyu met Oktay Urkal in a super-lightweight (WBA (Super) and WBC) world-title defense fight. Tszyu stopped Zab Judah via 2nd-round TKO and is crowned the unified WBA (Super), WBC, IBF and The Ring champion.
On August 21, 1999 Kostya Tszyu fought Miguel Angel Gonzalez in a super-lightweight world-title fight for the WBC title. Tszyu was 29 years old and with a record of 23-1 (19), and Gonzalez was 28 years old and with a record of 43-1-1 (33). Tszyu stopped Miguel Angel Gonzalez via 10th-round TKO and is crowned the new super-lightweight world champion.
