Kosei Tanaka (20-2, 11) was born in Tajimi, Gifu, Japan on June 15, 1995. At the age of 18 years on November 10, 2013, he made his professional boxing debut against Oscar Raknafa, winning the fight via 6-round unanimous decision.
On his 5th career fight at 19 years old, Tanaka became a strawweight world champion on May 30, 2015 after defeating Julian Yedras via 12-round unanimous decision to win the vacant WBO title.
