Károly Balzsay (25-2, 18) was born in Kecskemét, Bács-Kiskun, Hungary on July 23, 1979. At the age of 25 years on September 11, 2004, he made his professional boxing debut against Milojko Pivljanin, winning the fight via 3rd-round TKO.
On his 20th career fight at 29 years old, Balzsay became a super-middleweight world champion on January 10, 2009 after defeating Denis Inkin via 12-round unanimous decision to win the WBO title.
Balzsay's last fight was a super-middleweight (WBA (Regular)) world-title defense against Dimitri Sartison on April 21, 2012. He stopped Sartison via TKO in the 12th round, successfully defending the title. He retired with a 4-fight winning streak.
