On December 5, 2021 Isaac Cruz fought Gervonta Davis in a lightweight world-title fight for Davis' WBA (Regular) title. Cruz was 23 years old and with a record of 22-2-1 (15), and Davis was 27 years old and with a record of 25-0 (24). Cruz lost the fight via 12-round unanimous decision.
