Henry Akinwande (50-4-1, 30) was born in Dulwich, London, England, U.K. on October 12, 1955. At the age of 33 years on October 4, 1989, he made his professional boxing debut against Carlton Headley, winning the fight via 1st-round KO.
On his 31st career fight at 40 years old, Akinwande became a heavyweight world champion on June 29, 1996 after defeating Jeremy Williams via 3rd-round KO to win the vacant WBO title.
Akinwande's last fight was a 6-round unanimous decision loss to Ondřej Pála at age 52 on July 4, 2008. He retired from the sport of boxing following this loss.
