Gabriel Campillo (25-8-1, 12) was born in Madrid, Spain on December 19, 1978. At the age of 23 years on October 4, 2002, he made his professional boxing debut against Arturas Margis, winning the fight via 3rd-round retirement.
On his 20th career fight at 30 years old, Campillo became a light-heavyweight world champion on June 20, 2009 after defeating Hugo Hernán Garay via 12-round majority decision to win the WBA title.
