Fernando Martínez (17-0, 9) was born in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, Argentina on July 18, 1991. At the age of 26 years on August 25, 2017, he made his professional boxing debut against Juan Ignacio Haran, winning the fight via 4th-round retirement.
On his 14th career fight at 30 years old, Martínez became a super-flyweight world champion on February 26, 2022 after defeating Jerwin Ancajas via 12-round unanimous decision to win the IBF title.
Martínez' last fight was a super-flyweight world-title unification fight against Kazuto Ioka on July 7, 2024. He won the fight via 12th-round unanimous decision and won the WBA title. He is currently undefeated and is on a 17-fight winning streak.
