On August 17, 2013 Darren Barker fought Daniel Geale in a middleweight world-title fight for Geale's IBF title. Barker was 31 years old and with a record of 26-1 (16), and Geale was 32 years old and with a record of 29-1 (15). Barker won the fight via 12-round split decision and is crowned the new middleweight world champion.
