On February 23, 2008 Sultan Ibragimov, the WBO heavyweight champion, met Wladimir Klitschko, the IBF and IBO heavyweight champion, in a title unification fight. Ibragimov was 32 years old with a record of 22-0-1, and Klitschko was 31 with a record of 49-3. Ibragimov was on an undefeated 3-fight winning streak and Klitschko was on a 7-fight winning streak. Ibragimov lost via unanimous decision. Lost the title in unification. Went the distance with Klitschko.
