Murata was 31 years old and with a record of 13-1 (10), and N'Jikam was 33 years old and with a record of 36-2 (21). Murata stopped Hassan N'Dam N'Jikam via 7th-round retirement and is crowned the new middleweight world champion.
On July 12, 2019 Ryōta Murata fought Rob Brant in a middleweight world-title fight for Brant's WBA (Regular) title. Murata was 33 years old and with a record of 15-2 (12), and Brant was 28 years old and with a record of 25-1 (17). Murata stopped Rob Brant via 2nd-round TKO and is crowned the new middleweight world champion.
