Nishida was 28 years old with a record of 10-0, and Nakatani was 27 with a record of 30-0. Nishida was on an undefeated 10-fight winning streak and Nakatani was on an undefeated 30-fight winning streak. Nakatani stopped Nishida via retirement in the 6th round. Lost the title in unification.
