Gvozdyk was 32 years old with a record of 17-0, and Beterbiev was 34 with a record of 14-0. Gvozdyk was on an undefeated 17-fight winning streak and Beterbiev was on an undefeated 14-fight winning streak. Beterbiev stopped Gvozdyk via TKO in the 10th round. Lost the title in unification. Lasted into the 10th round.
