On April 15, 2017 Julius Indongo, the IBF champion, met Ricky Burns, the WBA (Unified) champion, in a super-lightweight world-title unification fight. Indongo was 34 years old and with a record of 22-0 (11), and Burns was 34 years old and with a record of 41-5-1 (14). Indongo won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and and is crowned the unified IBF and WBA (Unified) champion.
On December 3, 2016 Julius Indongo fought Eduard Troyanovsky in a super-lightweight world-title fight for Troyanovsky's IBF title. Indongo was 33 years old and with a record of 21-0 (11), and Troyanovsky was 36 years old and with a record of 25-0 (22). Indongo stopped Eduard Troyanovsky via 1st-round KO and is crowned the new super-lightweight world champion.
