Trinidad was 21 years old and with a record of 23-0 (19), and Camacho was 31 years old and with a record of 43-2 (20). Trinidad won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and successfully defended his title.
On February 20, 1999 Félix Trinidad met Pernell Whitaker in a welterweight (IBF) world-title defense fight. Trinidad was 26 years old and with a record of 34-0 (29), and Whitaker was 35 years old and with a record of 40-2-1 (17). Trinidad won the fight via 12-round unanimous decision and successfully defended his title.
