Erika Cruz (17-2-1, 3) was born in Mexico City, Mexico on May 3, 1990. At the age of 25 years on March 6, 2016, she made her professional boxing debut against Diana Gabriela Ojeda Crespo, winning the fight via 4-round unanimous decision.
On her 14th career fight at 30 years old, Cruz became a featherweight world champion on April 22, 2021 after defeating Jelena Mrdjenovich via 7-round technical decision to win the WBA title.
She then went on to become world champion at the super-bantamweight weight class as well, winning the WBA title against Mayerlin Rivas via 10-round majority decision on November 18, 2023.
Cruz' last fight was a super-bantamweight (WBA) world-title defense against Nazarena Romero on May 11, 2024. The fight ended in a split decision draw.
